All throughout June, riders, agencies, advocates, and communities across Washington showed up in full force to celebrate the power of public transit. Here’s a look back at some of the standout moments from Ride Transit Month 2025!
Statewide Recognition for Transit
We were thrilled to have Governor Bob Ferguson officially proclaim June as Ride Transit Month in Washington, along with many other jurisdictions across the state. A big thanks to our partners at Downtown on the Go, Valley Transit, and Pierce Transit for championing proclamations in their communities!

Transit Fans Brought the Energy to Every Event
TCC hosted a ballgame outing, a trivia night, and an advocacy workshop for Ride Transit Month this year, and we loved seeing so many of you at each event.

Ride Transit Night at the Ballpark
Over 230 riders joined us for Ride Transit Night at the Ballpark on June 13 to watch the Mariners take on the Cleveland Guardians. The night ended with a Mariners win and a fireworks show!

Lime trivia team at Transit Trivia
More than 80 people joined us at Transit Trivia Night on June 17 at Stoup Brewing in Capitol Hill, our biggest crowd yet! It was a lively evening of friendly competition and an impressive display of transit smarts.

Panel discussion at Snoqualmie Valley Rural Transportation Advocacy 101
Community members, elected officials, and advocates gathered in Duvall on June 13 for Snoqualmie Valley Rural Transportation Advocacy 101 to discuss rural mobility and ways to make their voices heard. We’re grateful to panelists Michelle Allison, Councilmember Sarah Perry, Representative Osman Salahuddin, and Anna Zivarts for sharing their insights. Thanks also to Hopelink and the Snoqualmie Valley Mobility Coalition for co-hosting!
Our Partners Spread the Ride Transit Month Fun!
Our transit agency and organizational partners helped make Ride Transit Month a truly statewide celebration.
Transit Trivia nights brought riders together in both Tacoma and Bellingham, while regional Bingo challenges from Thurston Regional Planning Council and Link Transit kept the fun going throughout June. Valley Transit’s Mobility University in Walla Walla offered games, skills training, and pizza, and Commute Seattle hosted a webinar to help riders feel confident navigating transit. Sustainability Ambassadors created a helpful bike to bus video to support multimodal travel. ORCA and Washington State Ferries invited the public to help choose new card designs, and SDOT’s Sal the Salmon even made an appearance to help Flip Our Trip get ready for summer. We loved seeing the creativity and enthusiasm from every corner of Washington!

Celebrating Ride Transit Month with you is one of our favorite parts of the year. Thank you to all the transit riders, operators, agency staff, and advocates for your enthusiasm and support!
Transit doesn’t stop in July, and neither do we. Stay connected with TCC, support your local transit agencies, and together, let’s keep transit moving forward in Washington.
