Every transportation budget is about more than numbers. It’s about whether people can get home safely. Whether our communities stay connected. Whether we actually follow through on our climate commitments. Whether transit systems can grow, or just try to survive.

How do we ensure transit-oriented development actually makes communities healthier, safer, and more equitable? This question was at the center of a recent collaboration between graduate students in the University of Washington’s MPH Health Policy Development course and Transportation Choices Coalition.
