Women Transforming Transportation

Date: Friday, March 24th

Time: 12pm - 1pm
Location: Bertha Knight Landes Room, Seattle City Hall

To honor Women's History Month, our Transit Talk in March- will highlight women who are breaking down barriers and leading the way for a more inclusive transportation sector.

Transit is an important equalizer when it comes to providing access to opportunity across incomes, race, and gender, however women may face additional barriers in both how they get around -- as well as representation in leadership in transportation agencies, consulting firms, and jurisdictions. Our panel of trail-blazing leaders will discuss the challenges women face, and how to elevate their voices, and develop strong leaders.

As we discuss topics as diverse as building thriving teams to building equitable transportation systems, all are encouraged to join us in exploring strategies for removing gender barriers and supporting inclusion in transportation.

Our panelists are:

  • Amy Scarton, WSDOT Assistant Secretary, Ferries Division
  • Christina O'Claire, Manager of Strategy & Performance, King County Metro
  • Jamie Cheney, Director of Transportation, Seattle Children's Hospital
  • Maud Daudon, President & CEO, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
  • Rita Brogan, Founder, PRR
  • Sherry Harris, Former Seattle City Councilmember, CEO, Ergosynch Engineering

Join us for this conversation to hear from these remarkable women: how they became successful, and how they are transforming the transportation sector.
