Jessyn Farrell, Executive Director

Jessyn joined the staff of Transportation Choices as Executive Director
in June, 2005. Under her leadership, Transportation Choices has
become Washington State’s strongest advocate for expanding transportation
choices like biking, walking, bussing, taking trains, and carpooling.
In her former job as a staff attorney for the Washington Public
Interest Research Group (WashPIRG), she developed and directed their
first-ever transportation program. She's a graduate of Boston College
Law School, and has spoken and written on a variety of environmental
issues including transboundary pollution and international trade.
In school she did a legal internship with the International Criminal
Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. She's a member of the Washington
State Bar Association and has been a member of numerous boards and
task forces, including the Transportation Policy Board, Sound Transit
Citizen Oversight Panel, and the Washington Coalition for Promoting
Physical Activity.
Bill LaBorde, State Policy Director

Bill returns to Transportation Choices Coalition after several years
away, helping amass big wins for the environmental community on
energy and climate issues. Most recently, Bill was the State Director
at Environment Washington where he helped pass landmark climate
legislation mandating greenhouse gas reductions in state law. Bill
is a recipient of the NW Energy Coalition's Headwaters Award for
his leadership in passing I-937, the Clean Energy Initiative, in
2006. He has been active in various civic affairs, including service
as a Tacoma Planning Commissioner and Tacoma Public Utilities boardmember.
Having recently relocated to Seattle from Tacoma, Bill, his wife
Pam, and kids Theo and Simone, like to go on family bike rides and
sit out on their front porch watching ST test trains go by.
Rob Johnson, Regional Policy Director

Rob joined Transportation Choices in 2004 after a two year stint
as a transportation planning consultant in Washington DC. A Bellevue
native, he is excited to be working on many of the pressing policy
issues that Transportation Choices and its members are advancing.
In a previous life, he worked as a grassroots organizer for several
political campaigns in Oregon and as a public sector planner in
Los Angeles. A graduate of Willamette University in Salem Oregon,
Rob also holds a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from UCLA.
Shefali Ranganathan, Director of Education and Outreach

Shefali joined the Transportation Choices Coalition team in June
2007. A self-described transportation geek, she wasa transportation
policy analyst at the Washington DC-based Environmental and Energy
Study Institute (EESI) where she worked on transportation, smart
growth and climate change issues, advocating for more transit, cleaner
cars and fuels. Prior to EESI, Shefali worked on community education
and outreach at the Casey Trees Endowment Fund, a non-profit community
organization in Washington DC. Shefali holds a Masters degree in
Environmental Science from American University, as well as a Masters
degree in Environmental Studies from her native India.
