Marko Liias is a transit champion in the Legislature.

If you are a transit activist, chances are you've heard of Marko Liias.  As a member and Vice Chair of the House Transportation Committee in the State Legislature, there is no bigger champion for transit. From helping to save King County Metro Bus last year to leading the charge for long-term, sustainable funding for transit statewide, Representative Liias has stepped up in big way in the Legislature.

Marko has seen first hand the effects of bus service cuts in his community.  His transit agency Community Transit was forced to cut more than 40% of bus service in Snohomish County in the last three years because of declining tax revenues. As a frequent bus rider, the loss of service hit home and Marko has redoubled his efforts in the Legislature to save and grow transit service as the economy recovers.

We cannot thank you enough Marko for your leadership and all that you do for transit in our state!
