The Senate just passed a transportation proposal yesterday – It’s now up to the House to take action. The package includes some revenue authority for Sound Transit 3 and modest funding for transit but does not adequately meet the needs of Washington residents and transit riders. We have serious concerns with the senate proposal and we are going to do everything we can to make it better.

This is our opportunity to make an impact and make it stronger in the House.

We are insisting that any transportation investment that passes the Legislature must include:

  • Full revenue authority for Sound Transit 3 to meet the Puget Sound region’s need for a world-class transit  system
  • Boost state transit funding well beyond the Senate levels to connect Washingtonians to opportunity
  • Remove the “poison pill” provision that pits transit funding against clean fuels. We need more transportation options and clean air . They are not political trading cards.

Here’s our plan to make it happen:

  • Organizing Action Days to connect you with key legislators
  • Delivering 1000 postcards to legislators urging them to make this proposal stronger
  • Making 500 phone calls to key legislators
  • And, Andrew Austin, our Policy Director will continue to work tirelessly in Olympia to represent you

Click here to make a contribution to help deliver our message and to support Transportation Choices ongoing efforts to strengthen the proposed package.

Here’s where you come in:

  • $10 covers 100 postcards
  • $25 helps us reach 25 legislators with emails and phone calls
  • $100 helps us get 20 people down to Olympia for Action Days

This is a big deal. Your support is critical to making this happen.

Can you help make this vision a reality? Your donation will cover the cost of printing and mailing the cards, transportation and food for our Action Day volunteers as well as supporting our on-going fight for more and better transportation choices.
