The work we do in Pierce County and the city of Tacoma wouldn’t be possible without the great partners we have in the South Sound. Downtown On the Go advocates for everyone who works and lives in downtown Tacoma through education about transportation choices other than driving alone. They encourage the use of transit, ridesharing, biking, and walking. They are a strong voice for transportation choices and land use policies that promote a vibrant downtown Tacoma, equipping advocates to participate at the city and county level to ask for better biking and walking infrastructure and transit improvements.

In the month of October Downtown On The Go!, organized the annual “Try Transit Month” in Downtown Tacoma. The entire month, participants logged commute trips with Pierce Trips, and Downtown on the Go organized great community building events centered around using transit.

Tacoma Mayor (and Pierce Transit Board Commissioner), Marilyn Strickland, joined fellow Tacomans on route 13 for a chat about transit.

And Downtown On the Go launched the “I Bus Tacoma” selfie campaign during the month of October. Inspiring transit riders (and some TCC Staff Members) to get creative with selfies on the bus!

And that’s not all! Downtown On the Go organized transit riders to testify before the Pierce Transit Board, the City Council at Citizens Forum, and the Pierce County council to demand improvements to transit in Tacoma:
