The speed and reliability of trains, light rail and commuter rail as they speed past, below
and over traffic is unmatched by any other mode of transportation. Trains are also an important part
of any mass transit system because they are attractive to many who would otherwise choose to drive if
rail was not available.

it's growing quickly and promises to be an essential part of Washington's transportation system into
the future.
3,000 daily commuters between Everett or Tacoma and Seattle are using Sound Transit's Sounder commuter
trains and enjoying the comfort of a smooth train ride to work or school. Sound Transit's Tacoma Link
light rail service is also doing well, orgininal projections of weekday ridership showed 2,000 by 2010.
In the first 13 days of service, ridership was already surpassing this projection.
